Kristen Bounds
Clinical Intern
Kristen Bounds is a clinical intern at Serene Life Counseling & Wellness. Kristen works with people who are dealing with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, life transitions, LGBTQIA+ concerns, sexual concerns, and relationship difficulties. Kristen is also a certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator providing premarital and marital counseling through this program.
Kristen works with individuals and people who are in traditional and nontraditional relationships. She has a particular interest in working with people in CNM and polyamorous relationships as well as clients who are working through gender and sexuality concerns.
As a post-modern therapist intern, Kristen takes a collaborative approach to therapy which allows the client to go at their own pace and comfort level. She believes that therapy should be a safe space, where clients feel welcome, free to share, and are able to be themselves. In all areas of life, we get a lot of messages from the people around us and from society in general about what is right and wrong. Kristen encourages her clients to question those messages and decide on the narrative that fits best for their lives. Kristen uses a systemic approach and narrative and solution-focused theories to help clients take charge of their own story.
